The 2026 Genesis G80 Black will be available in only one exterior colour, and also features changes inside to stay true to its namesake.
Genesis Australia has reshuffled its 2026 G80 large sedan line-up with the introduction of the Black variant and higher pricing for its 3.5-litre twin-turbo-petrol V6.
Now adopting the same variant nomenclature as the updated Genesis GV70, the new G80 opens with the Signature grade that replaces the previously named 2.5T RWD.
Pricing remains unchanged despite the name change, with the sedan starting from $104,200 before on-road costs and still powered by a 224kW/422Nm 2.5-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine that sends drive to the rear wheels.
Last year’s 3.5T AWD is now called Signature Sport, but moves up $6000 in price to $127,200 for 2026.
Retaining the 279kW/530Nm 3.5-litre twin-turbo-petrol V6 and all-wheel-drive grip as before, the Signature Sport – and the Signature – is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
However, topping the updated G80 in terms of positioning and equipment, but not price, is the new $125,200 Black grade.
Based on the Signature Sport, the Black features the same powertrain set-up, but adds a number of name-appropriate touches.
On the outside, the dual-mesh grille, lettering, headlight bezels, window surrounds, body-cladding, brake callipers, and 20-inch wheels are all blacked-out compared to the rest of the G80 line-up.
The G80 Black also features black nappa leather seat upholstery and a darkened Genesis steering wheel logo, as well as variant-specific changes to the infotainment screen.
To complete the interior look, the woodgrain trim, switchgear, and speaker grilles have also been blackened in the G80 Black.
The only option available to 2026 G80 line-up is matte paint for $2000, but the G80 Black is available in – unsurprisingly – only one colour to match its namesake.
