Even more new cars and brands are coming to Australian showrooms in 2026, from the Toyota RAV4 to the BYD Sealion 8. Here's your A to Z guide of everything you can expect.
The rush of new-car brands and models launching in Australia shows little sign of slowing down.
Last year saw the number of marques in the market grow significantly, mostly thanks to China and the likes of Geely, Foton, Jaecoo, and GAC, but new metal from existing brands, such as the BYD Shark 6 and Toyota HiLux, also made waves.
If you're struggling to keep up, we have bad and good news: there are more brands and models coming in 2026, but this story should help you keep up to date with them all.
In the electric-car world, there will be an updated XPeng G6, new Mazda 6e, and Mitsubishi's first EV in more than a decade, while performance-car fans can look forward to fresh metal from Porsche and Ferrari.
We will update this story progressively throughout the year with new models and updated dates, as they come to hand. However, as always, production schedule changes and shipping delays across the car industry mean the information below is subject to change.
LAST UPDATE: January 1, 2026
Note: 'Quarters' refer to three-month periods throughout the calendar year – so January to March (first quarter), April to June (Q2), July to September (Q3) and October to December (Q4). 'MY' refers to model year.
