Melbourne will be the location for one of just seven warehouse facilities for Chinese brand GAC, as the company commits to customer service and aftersales care.

The Melbourne parts warehouse will ensure that common service items and crash repair parts are stocked before they're needed, reducing downtime for customers with a vehicle in need of repair.

More than just a destination warehouse for Australian customers, the warehouse will be used as a distribution hub for neighbouring markets, leading to a high fill rate for parts.

GAC’s Deputy General Manager, Cheney Liang, described the investment as “A hub for the parts distribution across Oceania.

“This ensures that we will have plentiful stock levels, which will be carefully managed based on the information from our dealership network, and then our ongoing experience.

“This will ensure dealers are able to access parts they need at a fast pace.”

Along with local warehousing, GAC has established a local training program for its dealer network, most of which will operate as multi-franchise locations, sharing space with other brands in the same location.

“We are now doing the GAC sales and service training in Sydney. We will bring our GSSW, which stands for GAC Sales and Set Service Way, to Australia.” Liang said.

The training program extends across sales and aftersales (service and parts) staff at dealers, as a measure to ensure customers receive a level of car in line with GAC’s standards, but also includes dealer principals and business managers.

“We want them to know better, know more about GAC, about GAC's product philosophy, about GAC's history,” Liang explained. “Because these are the things that we want the customer to know.”

The brand will launch in Australia from November 18, 2025, with a footprint of 12 dealers initially, expanding to 20 locations soon after.

The three models offered at launch will expand to eight models by 2027, with full details of pricing and warranty for the range to be announced closer to the brand’s official launch.
