A larger battery and longer range have been confirmed for the Geely EX5 SUV, accompanied by a price rise.
The 2026 Geely EX5 has been updated with a larger 68.39kWh battery that boosts claimed WLTP range in select grades to 475km, on sale now.
Prices start from $41,990 before on-road costs for the Complete grade, rising to $45,990 for the Inspire, both up $1000.
The 2026 Geely EX5 will introduce a larger battery in both model grades, now a 68.39kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) pack in place of the 60.22kWh capacity offered last year.
Claimed WLTP driving ranges will be expanded from 430km to 475km in the Complete – longer than an entry-level Tesla Model Y RWD (466km) and BYD Atto 3 Premium (420km) – and from 410km to 450km in the Inspire.
Both grades of the EX5 are powered by a single electric motor driving the front wheels, outputting the same 160kW and 320Nm as before.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto were recently added in software updates for new and existing customers, with the interior retaining a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and 15.4-inch infotainment touchscreen.
The two-model range will now come standard with a retractable cargo cover and a 240-volt home charging cable, while Jungle Green, first introduced with the Starray EM-i hybrid SUV, will be added as a premium paint option.
Compared to the Complete grade, the Inspire variant adds 19-inch alloy wheels, a power tailgate, front parking sensors, ambient lighting, massage seats, a 13.4-inch head-up display, and a 16-speaker sound system.
The EX5 is offered with a seven-year/unlimited-kilometre vehicle warranty, seven-year roadside assistance, and an eight-year battery warranty.
The Geely EX5 has been on sale in the Australian market for 12 months, last year placing among the Top Five most popular new electric cars, at more than 4000 sales.
The extended-range variants of the Geely EX5 are in showrooms now.
