Melbourne will host its first Everything Electric show this weekend, with visitors able to get up close and personal to more than 100 vehicles and see Tesla’s Full-Self Driving technology for themselves.

The Show has been popular in Sydney in recent years, and now makes its debut at the Melbourne Showgrounds tomorrow, from Friday November 14 until Sunday, November 16.

The Scenic, previously available in Australia as a people-mover from 2001 to 2010 with a petrol engine, is due locally by the end of the year as an electric SUV.

The BYD Atto 2 small SUV, meanwhile, which was tested by Drive at a recent BYD event, will also be on display.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to experience the largest and most diverse EV test drive experience ever offered in Victoria, organisers say.

Thousands of test drives are expected over the three days, including demonstrations of Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) Supervised technology.

Tested by Drive from Sydney to Melbourne, Tesla’s FSD flagship driver-assistance technology capable of navigating to a destination with human supervision but little input.

In addition to cars, a variety of electric vehicles will be on display, including vans, trucks, e-scooters, and e-bikes.

Home energy will also be a key focus, with demonstrations and talks on solar, battery storage, EV charging, and vehicle-to-grid solutions, plus free one-on-one consultations with energy experts throughout the weekend.

Online ticket sales have now closed, but limited tickets are available to purchase at the door. Day passes for adults cost $40, with kids able to get in for free.

"Australia is at a fascinating point in its electrification journey; we’re seeing the technology, the infrastructure, and the enthusiasm finally align, and that’s when big change happens," said Founder of Everything Electric, Robert Llewellyn.

"But Everything Electric isn’t just about cars," he adds. "It’s about helping people reimagine how they power their lives, their homes, their travel, even their work, and showing that sustainable choices can also be smart, affordable and exciting."
