The Suzuki Victoris small SUV is the brand's next Indian-focused model, offering a full-hybrid system borrowed from Toyota, but it's unlikely for Australia.

Suzuki has added another small SUV to its global line-up with the addition of the Indian-built Victoris.

As standard, the 2026 Suzuki Victoris – which is related to the not-for-Australia Grand Vitara unveiled three years ago – features the same 12-volt mild-hybrid system as the smaller Fronx SUV.

Combined fuel consumption is rated at 3.5L/100km in India, down from 4.7L/100km for the mild-hybrid Victoris, which has a 1.5-litre Suzuki four-cylinder with five-speed manual or six-speed torque-converter automatic transmissions.

Suzuki will offer all-wheel drive with the mild-hybrid Victoris, but the full-hybrid model will be front-wheel-drive-only.

Available features include 17-inch alloy wheels, a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, an 8-speaker Infinity audio system with Dolby Atmos support, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 360-degree camera.

It will also be offered with front and rear parking sensors, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated front seats, a flip-up head-up display, a wireless smartphone charger, a USB-C charge port, and a panoramic sunroof.

"At this stage, the vehicle hasn’t been offered for Australian production orders," a Suzuki Australia spokesperson told Drive.

The reborn Suzuki Grand Vitara the Victoris is based on was unveiled in 2022, but it has been ruled-out for Australia as it is designed for emerging markets with less-stringent safety standards.

In 2026, Suzuki will launch a hybrid version of its 11-year-old Vitara small SUV in Australia, along with its first electric vehicle, the Indian-built e-Vitara.

Suzuki currently imports the Fronx and five-door Jimny XL from India for Australia, while the Swift and three-door Jimny are built in Japan, and the Vitara and S-Cross are sourced from Hungary.
