The Renault Scenic E-Tech will be offered in three grades in Australia, with high-grade models claiming the longest driving range of any electric small SUV currently on sale.
Order books for the 2026 Renault Scenic E-Tech electric small SUV have opened for Australia, ahead of local showroom arrivals expected in December this year or January next year.
Starting from $55,990 before on-road costs, the Scenic E-Tech is $1000 dearer than the Megane E-Tech, suggesting a price cut may be on the horizon for its smaller sibling, which is currently on special at $54,990 drive-away, with on-road costs included.
The Toyota Corolla Cross and BYD Atto 3-sized Scenic E-Tech five-seat electric SUV – reviving a name last seen in Australia on a seven-seat people mover in 2010 – will be offered in three grades: Techno EV60, Techno Long Range EV87, and Esprit Alpine EV87.
Renault Australia said the first shipment will be limited to the top-of-the-range $65,990 Esprit Alpine EV87, with local deliveries of the Techno EV60 and mid-grade $59,990 Techno Long Range EV87 due to follow "soon after".
The entry-level Techno EV60 grade is equivalent to the Megane E-Tech, with a 60kWh nickel-magnanese-cobalt (NMC) battery pack, but a less-powerful 125kW/280Nm front electric motor compared to the Megane's 160kW/300Nm.
It has a 430-kilometre driving range rating on the European WLTP lab-test standard.
'EV87' variants of the Scenic E-Tech upgrade to a 160kW/300Nm electric motor and an 87kWh NMC battery, delivering the longest electric driving range of any small SUV in Australia at 625 kilometres.
Standard equipment in Scenic E-Tech Techno grades includes 19-inch alloy wheels, a 12-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, and a wireless smartphone charger.
The Scenic E-Tech is the first Renault vehicle in Australia with telematics support, adding built-in Google services including Maps, Assistant and the Play Store, over-the-air software updates, and access to the MyRenault smartphone application.
Stepping up to the Esprit Alpine adds 20-inch alloy wheels, nine Harman Kardon speakers, power-adjustable front seats with memory, driver's seat massaging, and driver facial recognition.
The 2026 Renault Scenic E-Tech will arrive in Australian showrooms initially in Esprit Alpine EV87 guise, "later this year or early next year", indicating customer deliveries in December or January.
Ahead of its launch, the new model will be on display at the Everything Electric show at the Melbourne Showgrounds from November 14 to November 16, 2025.
