MG has cut a further $1000 off its cheapest models in Australia – the MG 3 and ZS – with a 'family' offer limited to eligible customers.
The 2026 MG 3 hatchback is now available for under $20,000 drive-away for the first time in 18 months – but not for all customers.
MG Australia has introduced a bonus offer for entry-level grades of the MG 3 and MG ZS to incentivise current or previous owners – or their immediate family members – to upgrade to a new model.
The MG Family offer takes an additional $1000 off the MG 3 Vibe and MG ZS Vibe, down to $19,990 and $21,990 drive-away, respectively.
Customers will be required to share proof of MG vehicle ownership, and "where applicable", proof of immediate family relationship, to be eligible for the offer, MG Australia's website says.
Eligible immediate family members include parents, a spouse, and children (including stepchildren or adopted children).
Customers who aren't eligible for the bonus family offer will pay $20,990 for the MG 3 Vibe and $22,990 for the MG ZS Vibe, which have already been discounted by $1000 in February for a 'celebration offer'.
The MG 3 Vibe was introduced in mid-2025 – nearly 12 months after higher-spec versions of the current MG 3 arrived in Australia – to reduce the cost of the hatchback, making it Australia's cheapest new car.
Meanwhile, MG Australia confirmed it has reintroduced the ZS Vibe three months after it was axed, undercutting the Vibe Turbo by $2000 – or $3000 including the family bonus.
The MG 3 Vibe and ZS Vibe both feature a 1.5-litre non-turbo four-cylinder petrol engine matched to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), developing 81kW and 142Nm.
Australian new-car sales data reveals 707 examples of the MG 3 were reported as sold in January 2026, making it the best-selling 'light' hatchback, but down 39 per cent compared to the same month last year.
The MG ZS recorded 1267 sales in Australia last month, behind the Chery Tiggo 4 (2234), Hyundai Kona (1839) and GWM Haval Jolion (1789), though it was up 4.5 per cent year-on-year.
