A facelift for the Ford F-150 has been confirmed to arrive in Australia in early 2026, two years after its US launch, headlined by a new Platinum flagship grade.
The facelifted 2026 Ford F-150 pick-up will launch in Australia early next year, more than two years after it was unveiled in the US.
Initially expected to arrive in local Ford showrooms in the final months of 2024, then early 2025, the updated F-150 will include a new Platinum grade in Australia when it launches, the brand has confirmed.
Priced from $114,950 before on-road costs for the F-150 XLT short- and long-wheelbase – $8000 and $7005 more than before, respectively – new standard features include a larger 12-inch infotainment touchscreen and LED reflector headlights.
Short- and long-wheelbase versions of the F-150 will now cost the same in Australia, rather than the previous $1000 difference.
The XLT also gains a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, newly designed 20-inch alloy wheels, USB-C charge ports, LED fog lights and tail-lights, load box area lighting, and a 12-volt outlet in the load box.
Meanwhile, the F-150 Lariat – now $143,950, up $4000 and $3005 over the outgoing short- and long-wheelbase versions – receives new-design chrome alloy wheels and a 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system.
The short-wheelbase Lariat also features extended-length chrome side steps.
At $163,950, the new-for-Australia F-150 Platinum will be the most expensive full-size US pick-up on sale in Australia, above the $159,950 Ram 1500 Limited and $144,900 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2.
Over the Lariat, the $20,000 extra spend for the Platinum brings a continuously controlled dampening suspension system, a multi-folding hard tonneau cover, a 360-degree camera with a rear cargo view, and gloss black exterior trim.
The Platinum also gains highlights such as automatic, power-deploying black side steps, black onyx leather upholstery, and 'plush multi-adjustable' front seats with six-way power lumbar, memory, max reclining, and multi-setting massage functionality.
Metallic paint, a $750 option for the XLT and Lariat, is included in the Platinum's list price.
Lariat and Platinum grades also add Ford's new 'Pro Access' split tailgate, with a 100-degree integrated swing gate which can be opened with one hand or the key fob.
Ford said the swing gate uses check stops to prevent the door from banging into a connected trailer hitch, while the sideways opening reduces the length needed to reach into the tub by up to 48 centimetres.
Across the F-150 range, revisions have been made to its gross combined mass (GCM) and gross vehicle mass (GVM), as detailed in the table below, allowing for increases in maximum payloads.

Under the bonnet, the Australian-market Ford F-150 continues to feature a 298kW/678Nm 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged petrol V6 engine, matched to a 10-speed torque-converter automatic transmission.
A hybrid version of this engine is offered in the United States, along with a non-hybrid 2.7-litre V6 and 5.0-litre V8, however, they remain off the table for Australia.
Australian new-car sales data shows the Ram 1500 is the best-selling US pick-up year-to-date with 2112 examples reported as sold, followed by the Chevrolet Silverado (1636), the Toyota Tundra (618) and the F-150 (549).
Local examples of the US-built pick-up continue to be re-manufactured for Ford Australia at an RMA Automotive facility in Melbourne's outer northern suburbs, distinct from the Ram, Chevrolet and Toyota all converted by Walkinshaw Automotive Group.
The 2026 Ford F-150 is expected to arrive in Australian showrooms early next year.
