Following in the footsteps of the 1, 2, and 3 Series, BMW has added a value-packed Sport Collection package to the entry-level X1 sDrive 18i small SUV.
BMW has brought its Sport Collection design package to the entry-level X1 SUV, adding a number of desirable options to the equipment list.
Based on the BMW X1 sDrive 18i, the Sport Collection package adds features such as an M Sport styling package with revised front and rear bumpers, 18-inch bi-colour alloy wheels, adaptive M suspension, a panoramic glass sunroof, and metallic paint in a choice of four shades.
The Sport Collection cars also feature a badge delete package that removes the sDrive 18i badging.
Inside, they are finished in black faux leather upholstery (standard on the regular model) with additions like ‘M Hexacube’ pattern dash inserts, heated front seats, and electrically adjustable front seats with driver’s memory.
Pricing for the special edition X1 sDrive 18i is set at $72,900 drive-away. A regular, unoptioned sDrive 18i starts from $61,800 plus on-road costs, or $67,659 drive-away with a Sydney postcode.
Although the individual components can’t be added to build a matching vehicle, adding BMW’s Enhancement package pushes the regular price to $73,555 drive-away, but the Sport Collection lacks the premium audio, rear seat slide, and heated steering wheel of a regular optioned-up model.
The regular sDrive 18i is also not offered with the M Sport styling and adaptive suspension of the Sport Collection, which more closely match the equipment of the more expensive X1 xDrive 20i, but without the powertrain upgrade.
No changes have been made to the powertrain of the sDrive 18i with the same 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder sending 115kW and 230Nm to the front wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Other carryover standard features include a 10.7-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, head-up display, powered tailgate, adaptive cruise control, and keyless entry and start.
Deliveries of the BMW X1 sDrive 18i Sport Collection are set to commence in the third quarter (July to September) of 2025.
