Renault is offering its top-of-the-range petrol family SUV for less than a base Toyota RAV4 until 30 June, as it clears stock of 2024-plate examples.
The top-of-the-range version of the Renault Koleos SUV will be offered for $39,990 drive-away – undercutting the popular Toyota RAV4 – until June 30 to help clear existing stock.
Applicable to Model Year 2024 (MY24) stock, the sub-$40,000 price applies to the front-wheel-drive Koleos Intens – the sole equipment level of the SUV still listed on Renault's website – with an all-wheel-drive Intens offered for $42,490 drive-away.
The discounted prices are down from RRPs of $39,990 and $42,490 plus on-road costs, respectively, or an estimated $44,000 and $46,000 drive-away.
It is the lowest sticker ever applied to the Intens grade, and brings the price of the top-of-the-range Koleos back to where it was when the previous-generation model left showrooms 10 years ago.
Renault Australia is yet to confirm when MY25 Koleos stock is due in showrooms, though the company has previously indicated there are no plans to drop the SUV from the local line-up amid newer-generation versions offered in overseas markets.
Koleos sales declined by 46 per cent in the first three months of 2025, but it has still outsold the Skoda Karoq SUV so far this year.
The top-selling SUV in the French car maker’s local line-up, the five-seat Koleos – twinned with the previous-generation Nissan X-Trail – is now readily available in a single Intens trim level, as it's understood the cheaper Zen and Life models are down to dealer stock only.
The front-wheel-drive (FWD) Koleos Intens includes 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, privacy glass, and a hands-free power-operated tailgate as standard equipment.
The cabin includes nappa leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, an 8.7-inch centre touchscreen with satellite navigation, and a panoramic sunroof.
The Koleos Intens AWD has the same equipment but, with its added all-wheel drive, is $3000 more expensive, offering the same 458-litre boot space behind the rear seats that's expandable to 1690L.
Both models come with a 126kW/226Nm 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, paired with a continuously-variable automatic transmission (CVT), and claimed fuel consumption of 8.1L/100km with front-wheel drive or 8.3L/100km with all-wheel drive.
The second-generation Renault Koleos available in Australia has been discontinued in many overseas markets.
In South Korea, where the Koleos is produced for Australia, a new-generation Grand Koleos is now available – based on a model from China's Geely – but it is yet to be confirmed for right-hand drive.
