The Isuzu MU-X Tour Mate special edition has returned to Australia, but after a facelift and a series of price hikes, it costs $6000 more than 12 months ago.

The 2026 Isuzu MU-X Tour Mate special edition, based on the 3.0-litre turbo-diesel LS-T four-wheel-drive, has returned to local showrooms.
Previously offered in late 2024, the Tour Mate returns after the MU-X received a facelift earlier this year, followed by last month's addition of an idle stop-start system for its 3.0-litre diesel to cut fuel use.
Priced from $79,990 drive-away, the 2026 MU-X Tour Mate costs $6000 more than its 2024 equivalent, as the RRP of the LS-T variant it is based on has jumped from $69,400 to $73,400 before on-road costs over the last 12 months.
However, Isuzu Ute Australia's website reveals the Tour Mate – which adds several genuine accessories – has a similar drive-away price to an non-accessoried 3.0-litre LS-T, at around $80,000.
Instead, the 2.2-litre MU-X LS-T is currently offered for $69,990 drive-away, less than its official RRP of $71,400, while the top-of-the-range 3.0-litre MU-X X-Terrain is available for $75,990 drive-away, down from its $77,100 RRP.
Genuine accessories added to the MU-X Tour Mate package include a satin black steel bull bar, which retains front parking sensors and fog lights, along with a tow bar kit with a 50-millimetre tow ball, 12-pin flat wiring harness and an electronic brake controller.
The special edition also adds front and rear slimline weather shields, a rear cargo liner, the choice between rubber or carpet floor mats, and a dealer-installed wireless smartphone charger.
Isuzu says customers can also choose to replace the black satin steel bull bar with a polished alloy bull bar, but it is unclear if this option incurs an extra charge.
Compared to its 2024 equivalent, the new Tour Mate misses out on extendable towing mirrors, but adds the wireless smartphone charger, weather shields and rear cargo liner.
Isuzu says the special edition variant adds "commonly selected optional genuine towing accessories worth almost $9000 when fitted", which are claimed to represent savings of more than $7600 over adding them to a standard MU-X LS-T.
It is offered in the same seven colours as the MU-X LS-T: Mineral White, Moonstone White Pearl, Mercury Silver, Obsidian Grey, Magnetic Red, Cobalt Blue and Basalt Black.
