Every Hyundai SUV on sale in Australia in 2025

Hyundai has consistently enjoyed success in Australia, with the South Korean car maker becoming a permanent mainstay among the top 10 most popular car brands in the domestic market over the past couple of years.

While 2024 saw a 4.7 per cent decrease in total sales volume compared to 2023, Hyundai still ranked sixth, accruing 71,664 new car sales last year – with its SUV range accounting for approximately 72 per cent of its entire sales portfolio.

As Australia’s obsession with SUVs grew, so did Hyundai’s line-up, and in 2025, its range encompasses numerous variants with petrol, hybrid and electric powertrains – as well as different price points to accommodate a range of budgets.

It's worth noting that all new Hyundai vehicles are covered by the car maker's five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty. However, its coverage only applies to cars used for “private and domestic purposes”.

Commercial vehicles – excluding a people-mover van (five-year/160,000km) – are limited to a five-year/130,000km.

But what SUV model suits you best? To offer some guidance, here is every Hyundai SUV that is currently on sale in Australia.

Prices listed in this story are before on-road costs.

The Hyundai Kona is available in 15 variations that include petrol, electric and hybrid powertrains. Prices start from $32,500 before on-road costs for the base-spec Kona 2.0-litre petrol SUV and extend to the $46,500 Kona Premium N Line variant.

Customers considering a petrol-sipping hybrid variant can expect a $36,500 starting price for the Kona Hybrid front-wheel drive, with the petrol-electric Kona range topping out at the Kona Premium N Line, priced the same as its petrol counterpart at $46,500.

Meanwhile, the Kona electric range starts from $54,000 for the standard-range variant and extends to the flagship Kona Electric Premium N Line, which carries a $71,000 sticker price.

The Hyundai Kona won the Drive Car of the Year Best Small SUV under $50K in 2024 and 2025, with the Kona Hybrid Premium (from $43,500) donning the crown.

The Kona was the second-most popular car among the entire Hyundai range, with 17,374 examples reported as sold between January and December 2024.

If you need more space than the Kona offers, Hyundai offers a medium-sized SUV in its Tucson. Similar to its smaller sibling, the Tucson is available in 17 variants while offering a mix of petrol and hybrid powertrains in each spec.

The entry-level petrol-powered Tucson 2.0-litre front-wheel drive is priced from $39,100 and reaches the $55,600 Tucson Premium variant.

Buyers with an appetite for a medium hybrid SUV could consider the Tucson, with the entry-level Tucson Hybrid front-wheel drive starting from $45,100 before reaching the top-spec Tucson Premium N Line hybrid at $61,100.

The Tucson was Hyundai’s most popular model in the new car market last year, accounting for 19,061 – or 26 per cent – of its entire 2024 total.

Hyundai is looking to challenge Toyota’s dominance in the hybrid segment of the domestic market, with the Tucson touted as the champion to compete with the RAV4 SUV – the second-most popular model sold last year.

The South Korean car maker introduced a hybrid variant to the Tucson range at the end of 2024, with a Hyundai representative previously stating the brand is looking to double down on the petrol-electric powertrain moving forward.

“We are pushing hard with a hybrid because we believe our product offering is extremely competitive – especially with Tucson, Santa Fe, and Kona hybrids in their respective segments,” a Hyundai Australia spokesperson previously told Drive.

Though the South Korean car maker is looking to prioritise hybrids in the future, Hyundai’s largest SUV, the Palisade, is the only model that is currently available only in a diesel form.

However, the new generation 2026 Palisade – due to arrive in Australia in late 2025 – will reportedly swap diesel with hybrid, bringing it in line with Hyundai’s other popular SUV models.

As previously reported by Drive, Hyundai has culled the petrol V6 found in the Palisade, and will instead be substituted for a new 2.5-litre turbo-petrol four-cylinder engine that will form the foundation of a new hybrid system that will power the next generation.

Currently, the large SUV starts from $66,800 for the base-spec Elite variant, with the diesel version costing $4000 more at $70,800.

The mid-tier Palisade Calligraphy follows a similar price trend, with the petrol-powered Palisade starting from $75,900 – while the Palisade Calligraphy in its diesel form sees a price increase of $3319 to $79,219.

The Palisade line-up is topped off by the diesel-powered Calligraphy Black Ink variant, which comes in at $81,719.

The Hyundai Venue is currently the cheapest SUV the car maker offers, with the entry-level Venue manual costing $22,750 before on-road costs.

One grade above is the Venue Active is priced from $27,000, while the range-topping Venue Elite starts from $29,500.

Interestingly, the Venue is also one of the last remaining SUVs that is still available with a manual transmission, joining the likes of the Kia Sportage S and SX, Mitsubishi ASX GS, Suzuki Ignis GL and the three-door Suzuki Jimny Lite.

While the Kona range offers an electric variant, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 is the only fully-electric vehicle it has in its arsenal. The battery-powered SUV is priced from $69,800 for the standard-range variant and reaches the flagship Ioniq 5 N that costs $110,383.

Though EVs are known to be quiet on the road, the performance-focused Ioniq N features a synthetic engine and gear shift noise that mimics a traditional petrol/diesel-powered vehicle.

The function – unique only to the Ioniq 5 N – has proved to be so popular that other car makers such as Lamborghini have been caught on video using the electric SUV as a potential benchmark for its own upcoming EV model.
