2026 Toyota HiLux teased, reveal date set for new-generation ute

The reveal of the new-generation 2026 Toyota HiLux ute is finally around the corner.

In its first teaser for the ute, Toyota's Thai division has confirmed it will unveil the 2026 HiLux on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 2:30pm Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT).

The teaser, shared on Toyota Motor Thailand's social media channels, reveals there will be slimmer headlights, revised tail-lights, a new alloy wheel design, and retro-style 'TOYOTA' script.

As previously reported, the 2026 HiLux will not be a ground-up redesign, with spy photos confirming it will be a heavy facelift of the current-generation model launched in Australia a decade ago.

Recent government approval documents suggest the HiLux – codenamed 'AN2' – could ditch its 2.7-litre four-cylinder petrol engine, while the future of its 2.4-litre diesel is also unclear.

Instead, the 2.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel may become widespread across the 2026 HiLux range.

Variants are expected to continue to offer 48-volt 'mild-hybrid' assistance, which is limited to higher grades of today's HiLux, but non-electrified and manual transmission versions have also been homologated for sale in Australia.

Inside, leaked images show the dashboard of the new HiLux will resemble the latest LandCruiser Prado SUV, featuring a new design with a larger infotainment touchscreen and digital instrument cluster.

Stay tuned to Drive for more details on the 2026 Toyota HiLux when it is unveiled on Monday, November 10, 2025.
