Macan EV range expands with newest addition

Porsche has added a driver-focused GTS model to its Macan Electric range.

The 2026 Porsche Macan GTS is positioned below the flagship Macan Tubo, offering a 380kW dual-motor powertrain with the ability to sprint from 0-100km/h in 3.8 seconds when using its 420kW/955Nm overboost and launch control.

As with other electric Macan’s, power isn’t just about performance, with a 100kW battery, and the capability to charge at 270kW on a compatible charger, allowing a 10-80 per cent top up in 21 minutes.

Porsche has not yet provided a driving range rating for the Macan GTS, but the Macan 4S and Macan Turbo positioned either side of it in the range are rated at 619km and 616km respectively, based on more lenient NEDC testing.

The GTS offers more power than the 380kW Macan 4S, which is claimed to run to 100km/h in 4.1 seconds, but is positioned beneath the 470kW Macan Turbo with 470kW and a 3.3-sec 0-100km/h time.

The previous-generation 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 Macan was rated at 324kW/550Nm with a 0-100km/h time of 4.3 seconds, priced from $140,600 before on-road costs when it was last sold in Australia.

From the outside, the Macan GTS adopts GTS-specific styling similar to other Porsche GTS models, including a new Sport Design Package styling pack, with black side skirts, wheel arch trims, rear spoiler, and bumper elements.

The new Sport Design Package will be optionally available across the Macan range in 2026, following its introduction on the GTS.

Tinted matrix LED headlights and 21-inch ‘anthracite grey’ Macan Design alloy wheels complete the GTS’s black-pack transformation, although other wheel finishes are optionally available, including the 22-inch RS Sypder Design wheels shown through the press images.

The Macan GTS ride on 10mm lower air suspension than the regular Macan, with model-specific damper and anti-roll bar tuning to give the Macan GTS its own driving feel.

The GTS also boasts the lowest centre of gravity of the Macan range.

Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus is included as standard, and rear axle steering can be added as an option to further enhance agility.

Three new colours join the Macan range alongside the launch of the Macan GTS, with Crayon making its return to the Macan range, alongside the iconic GTS colour, Carnival Red, and in a first for the Macan, Lugano Blue.

The GTS interior comes in standard Race-Tex upholstery with Race-Tex suede-look finishes on the steering wheel, armrests, centre console, doors, and dash, paired with leather on the seat bolsters and headrests.

Vehicles finished in Carmine Red, Slate Grey Neo or Lugano Blue on the exterior can be optioned with a GTS Interior Package that matches the seat, dash, and door trim stitching, and the seatbelts, to the exterior colour.

GTS logos on the seats and steering wheel also get colour-matched, and the package adds carbon-fibre trims to the dash, door cards, and steering wheel.
