In a staggered roll-out, VW has added sporty ID.4 GTX and more affordable ID.5 Pro models to its electric SUV line-up.

Volkswagen Australia has filled the gaps in its electric SUV range with the addition of a new flagship ID.4 GTX and a less expensive ID.5 Pro model.
They fill the gaps in each respective range, with an entry-level ID.5 Pro joining the ID.4 Pro, and the performance-oriented flagship for the ID.4 joining the existing ID.5 GTX.
The ID.4 GTX will join the line-up priced from $69,990 before on-road costs, making it $3000 less expensive than the coupe-SUV ID.5 GTX and $10,000 more expensive than the ID.4 Pro (from $59,990 plus on-road costs).
The ID.5 Pro follows a similar pricing format, priced from $62,990, making it $3000 more expensive than the equivalent ID.4 Pro and $10,000 less expensive than the ID.5 GTX.
While specification of the new variants largely mirrors those of the existing models announced in February, small running changes see the addition of wireless Apple CarPlay.
As with the ID.4 Pro, the ID.5 Pro will feature a rear-axle motor producing 210kW and 545Nm, powered by a 77kWh battery allowing a claimed driving range of 543km in European WLTP testing – unusually, 1km less than its ID.4 counterpart.
Both 11kW AC and 175kW DC charging are supported across the model range.
The ID.5 Pro matches the ID.4 with adaptive suspension, 19-inch alloy wheels, matrix LED headlights with adaptive high beam, a 5.0-inch instrument display, and 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, voice control, and FM/DAB+ radio.
It also offers power-adjustable front seats with memory and heating, a heated steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls, tri-zone climate control, wireless phone charging, and a panoramic glass roof with sunblind. The full equipment list is detailed at the bottom of the article.
Similarly, the ID.4 GTX mirrors the existing ID.5 GTX with a more powerful 250kW dual-motor drivetrain, enabling all-wheel drive, and a 79kWh usable capacity for the battery. Driving range is claimed at 511km, compared to 522km for the ID.5 GTX.
The GTX grades also pick up model-specific exterior and interior styling, 20-inch alloy wheels, front sports seats, and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon premium sound system.
Deliveries for the expanded 2025 Volkswagen ID.4 and ID.5 ranges are set to begin in July.
