The latest-generation 2025 Mitsubishi Triton ute has moved one step closer to gaining additional body styles in Australia a year on from the launch of its dual-cab pick-up-focused line-up.

Australian pricing details listed on industry database Redbook – based on information supplied by manufacturers – reveals the Mitsubishi Triton range will soon expand with six new variants.

At least one of the new grades will offer a manual transmission – which Mitsubishi Australia promised would arrive after the ute's initial 2024 launch, alongside single-cab and extra-cab bodies – unlike now-automatic-only rivals such as the Ford Ranger, Volkswagen Amarok and Mazda BT-50.

The two-wheel-drive GLX automatic dual-cab pick-up remains the most-affordable Triton currently available at $43,690 before on-road costs, while the four-wheel-drive version has expanded with manual or automatic cab-chassis models starting from $47,270 – compared to $50,940 for the current GLX automatic dual-cab pick-up.

Cab-chassis versions of the GLX+, GLS and GSR automatic dual-cabs will also be available according to the price guide – the first time Mitsubishi has offered top-of-the-range Triton GLS and GSR models as a cab-chassis from the factory.

In addition, the previously-announced GLX+ 4x4 extra-cab automatic – which Mitsubishi calls 'club cab' – has returned after it missed the Triton's February 2024 launch, remaining at its $50,390 list price first confirmed in November 2023.

A Mitsubishi Australia representative was unable to confirm the pricing details when approached by Drive, but said local details on cab-chassis and manual-transmission grades will be communicated "over the coming months".

It is unclear if the most-basic 'traffic controller' single-cab cab-chassis grades – likely to be based on the entry-level GLX – will launch at the same time, with this body style not listed among the six new variants.

Pricing of Mitsubishi's genuine accessory alloy and steel tray options has not been confirmed for cab-chassis versions of the Triton.

A 360-degree camera will not be available on cab-chassis models, which revert to a standard rear-view camera display, nor rear parking sensors or an autonomous emergency braking (AEB) system in reverse according to specifications listed alongside the Redbook prices.

The addition of cab-chassis and manual-transmission versions of the latest Triton ute follows the launch of sub-one-tonne editions of the GLS and GSR dual-cab pick-ups in mid-2024 – about six months after its arrival – to make them eligible for novated lease customers.

A GSR Special Edition model was also added last month with a number of styling differences over the standard GLS four-wheel-drive dual-cab pick-up it is based on, with a $500 discount.
