The 2025 Audi RS3 hot hatch and sedan have been detailed for Australia.

Priced from $104,800 before on-road costs, the updated RS3 is up to $9585 dearer than before, and introduces revised exterior and interior styling, retuned stability systems, and new colours.

New-for-2025 is a flatter and wider 'singleframe' grille, larger side air intakes, new apertures above the front splitter to allow the car to sit even lower, and updated matrix LED headlights with three selectable daytime running light designs, including a checkered flag pattern.

The RS3 also adds redesigned 19-inch alloy wheels, updated tail-light graphics, and a new steering wheel with haptic controls and red chequered flag and RS buttons for the Performance and RS Individual drive modes, respectively.

The digital instrument cluster now shows its rev counter in the centre of the display, while five chemists are said to have developed an improved new-car smell for the RS3 in all climatic conditions.

Its 15-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system has been replaced by a Sonos 3D unit with an identical speaker count.

Audi has added three new colours – Arkona White, Ascari Blue metallic and Progressive Red metallic – but Australia misses out on the Daytona Grey matte finish introduced overseas.

Newly optional carbon bucket seats similar to a BMW M2 are also not listed in the RS3's specifications for Australia.

In addition, Audi has removed the $13,000 RS Dynamic Plus package with carbon-ceramic brakes and a 290km/h top speed limiter – up from 250km/h as standard – with the carbon-ceramic brakes now a $10,800 standalone option.

The previously-optional $2000 Matte Aluminium Styling Package is also unavailable for the new model.

An algorithm change for the modular driving dynamics controller (mVDC), which combines the software behind the torque splitter, electronic stability control and adaptive dampers, has improved the car's agility and stability.

Audi says the updates to the mVDC have allowed for higher cornering speeds with increased lateral dynamics to minimise understeer.

While there are no changes to its 294kW/500Nm 2.5-litre turbocharged five-cylinder petrol engine, the revisions to its mVDC have allowed Audi to reclaim the Nürburgring race-track lap record in the 'compact' production car class.

In August 2024, following the global reveal of the updated RS3, Audi confirmed a time of seven minutes and 33.123 seconds, beating the BMW M2's record by more than five seconds.

The 2025 Audi RS3 is on sale now ahead of first customer deliveries due in the middle of the year.
