Volkswagen has introduced drive-away deals on its electric vehicle range, including massive savings on the ID. Buzz people mover, until the end of the year.
Volkswagen Australia has drastically slashed the price of the ID. Buzz people mover by as much as $14,000 as part of special offers on its electric-vehicle line-up, including the ID.4 and ID.5 SUVs.
Until December 31, 2025, the ID. Buzz Pro five-seat short-wheelbase and seven-seat long-wheelbase people movers are available for $79,990 and $84,990 drive-away, respectively.
They compare to regular drive-away prices in Victoria before options of about $94,200 and $98,100, respectively, according to the Volkswagen website, representing savings of about $14,000 and $13,000, respectively.
Regular on-road prices are indicative only, and vary by location, meaning total savings will differ from state to state.
The recently-introduced, high-performance ID. Buzz GTX is excluded from the drive-away pricing offer, and retains its $109,990 plus on-road costs price for now.
Also on special are Volkswagen's electric SUVs, the ID.4 and ID.5, including the recently-introduced ID.4 GTX and ID.5 Pro variants.
Drive-away prices for the ID.4 Pro and ID.5 Pro sit at $62,990 and $65,990 nationwide, representing savings of about $2500 to $3000 from their regular prices in Victoria, with the discounts to differ in other jurisdictions.
Meanwhile, all-wheel-drive GTX variants are now available for $72,990 in the ID.4 body style, or $75,990 as the sleeker ID.5 – savings in the region of $3000 in Victoria.
The drive-away pricing offers will run from now until December 31, 2025 or until stocks last.
Volkswagen has announced an 'EV Showcase' event at its dealers this Saturday, promising "heightened expert emphasis" on its electric cars, with customers who purchase an ID.4 or ID.5 between October 18 and 25 given a $1000 accessories voucher.
Customers who purchase an ID. model – including all ID. Buzz variants – from today onwards will receive a 10-cent-per-kilowatt-hour discount at Ampol AmpCharge electric-car charging stations for the next 12 months.
It is also available to existing owners.
Volkswagen says ID. Buzz stock in dealers is split 50:50 between five-seat and seven-seat versions, with 43 per cent of cars in showrooms finished in two-tone paint ($4090 option).
Other optional packages remain available on cars included with the drive-away pricing offer, including a panoramic glass roof ($3290), Infotainment package Plus with Harman Kardon audio ($2200), and 21-inch alloy wheels ($1900).
The Interior Style package includes rear privacy tint, front and second-row seat heating, and Seaqual upholstery (partially made from marine plastics) for $6480, with the option to upgrade to ArtVelours suede-look upholstery.
Standard specifications for the ID. Buzz range remain unchanged, with matrix LED headlights, adaptive cruise control, power-sliding side doors, three-zone climate control, a 12.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, and 360-degree cameras.
Both versions are powered by a 210kW/560Nm rear electric motor. The five-seat ID. Buzz comes with a 79kWh (gross capacity) battery and a 422km WLTP range claim, while the seven-seat model adopts a larger 86kWh battery and 452km range.
Sales to the end of September 2025 see the ID. Buzz top the sales charts for premium people movers in the over-$70,000 market segment.
Volkswagen has reported 323 ID. Buzz people movers as sold so far this year, ahead of the second-placed VW Multivan (221) and Lexus LM (201), with the Mercedes-Benz V-Class (194) and Vito Tourer (112) rounding out the top five.
