Mercedes-Benz announces trio of special edition GLE and GLS SUVs

A trio of special edition Mercedes-Benz SUVs have been announced for Australian showrooms across the GLE and GLS model lines.

The car maker won’t say exactly how many of each it will offer in Australia, but the additional features add value to its current models as it looks to build on a strong start to sales in 2025, up almost one-third.

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE450 Coupe AMG Line Plus Edition headlines the trio and brings additional ‘sporty’ touches to the large SUV.

Being based on the petrol-powered GLE450 AMG Line – which already includes an AMG body styling kit and larger front brake discs – the Plus Edition adds 22-inch alloy wheels finished in black, an AMG lip-spoiler and the usually optional Night Package fitted as standard.

There’s also AirMatic air suspension including adaptive damping, while the AMG Line Plus Edition cabin sees Artico/microcut black upholstery throughout joining the multi-function sports steering wheel, AMG floor mats, front seats with four-way lumbar support and interior chrome package.

The 2025 GLE450 Coupe AMG Line Plus Edition is $163,300 before on-road costs, the same price as the standard GLE450 AMG Line.

The second set of special editions, the ‘Edition 7’ treatment has been given to the GLE300d and the GLS450d.

Priced at $141,800 before on-road costs, the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE300d Edition 7 SUV is $5200 more than the standard version after significant price reductions in late 2024.

It brings unique 21-inch AMG alloy wheels on the outside, with adjustable, heated second-row seats joined by third-row seating as part of the pack.

The GLS450d Edition 7 also runs 21-inch alloy wheels, with an upgraded interior – but at $171,000 before on-road costs represents a saving of $18,000 on the list price of the standard model.

The special-edition GLS450d’s interior includes nappa leather upholstery and four-way lumbar adjustable front seats, velour floor mats while climate control works with heat-insulated tinted windows and a panoramic sunroof.

The Edition 7 GLS450d also comes with the Advanced Plus Package which includes power closing doors, heated and cooled front seats, head-up display, MBUX augmented reality, wireless smartphone charging and a Burmester audio system.
