Owning any Lamborghini is rare, but you'll need to spend a couple more million dollars before you have the opportunity to purchase a limited edition variant.

For a brand as exclusive as Lamborghini – where the point of entry starts from $450,000 before on-road costs – its limited-edition program will continue to be an important pillar for the brand.

Speaking with international media, including Drive, Stephen Winkelmann, Chief Executive Officer of Lamborghini, said the brand’s main focus is on “big ticket” models like the Urus and Revuelto, but the key executive did acknowledge the importance of these limited-edition models that are generally reserved for its top-tier clients.

“It [special edition and few-off models] can’t be the main focus of the brand, but this is also part of rewarding our customers, which are the most loyal ones and therefore it’s important to have the top part of the [market] segment and somehow, this type of [exclusive] cars that we invented will continue,” Winkelmann explained.

Asked if there are any changes in the pipeline for its ‘Few Off’ program – which started in 2007 with the Reventon – the Lamborghini CEO said, “we will continue to do those types of activities” indefinitely, with Winkelmann explaining the brand aims to do a few-off model “every three to four years”.

For reference, Lamborghini’s ‘Few-Off’ program has been running for 18 years and has spawned numerous special edition models that were highly exclusive.

The Italian marque recently announced its newest addition to the “Few-Off” line, a plug-in hybrid sports car dubbed the Fenomeno, which is built on the Revuelto’s DNA.

The Fenomeno is limited to just 29 units, with Winkelmann confirming allocation has mostly been exhausted, though the CEO stopped short of naming what countries these examples would be shipped off to.

Additionally, Lamborghini’s “Few-off” program has produced some of the rarest models in existence like the Sesto Elemento in 2012 – of which only 20 units were manufactured – the Centenario (20 coupes and 20 roadsters), and the Reventon, the brand’s first “Few-Off” model which launched in 2007, with Lamborghini only building 45 examples (20 coupes and 15 roadsters).
