Clearance deals on 2025-plated Chery Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid give the medium plug-in hybrid SUV the title of Australia’s cheapest PHEV – temporarily.
Chery has announced discounts of $5000 off the list price of the Chery Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid plug-in hybrid range.
The move to clear 2025-built vehicles has seen the price of the entry-level Chery Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid Urban reduced to $34,990, down from its regular list price of $39,990 drive-away.
The move makes the plug-in hybrid SUV Australia’s cheapest, undercutting the BYD Sealion 5 PHEV, which can be ordered in Australia with a starting price of $33,990 plus on-road costs.
Adding on-road costs to the price of a BYD Sealion 5 brings the final on-road price to between $35,210 and $37,020, depending on location.
The $5000 discount offer on the Chery Tiggo 7 applies to both the Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid Urban and the high-grade Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid Ultimate, which now starts from $38,990 drive-away, down from $43,990 drive-away normally.
The special pricing offer applies to new orders placed between January 1 and February 28, 2026, while stocks last. Fleet, government and rental buyers are not eligible to receive the discount.
The discount offer essentially halves the $10,000 premium for plug-in hybrid versions of the Tiggo 7, making it a $5000 step up from a non-hybrid model to the Super Hybrid versions for the duration of the offer.
At the time of writing, Chery’s clearance deal applies only to the plug-in hybrid version of the Tiggo 7, with no discounts or deals available on the regular Tiggo 7.
The Chery Tiggo 7 Super Hybrid is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol four-cylinder engine and a single electric motor driving the front wheels.
An 18.4-kilowatt-hour battery enables a claimed electric-only driving range of 93km, with fuel consumption rated at 1.4 litres per 100km.
Compared to the entry-level Sealion 5, the base Tiggo Super Hybrid claims 22km greater EV range, but fuel consumption 0.2L/100km higher.
The 4535mm long Tiggo 7 is also 203mm shorter than the Sealion 5, making it one of the more compact medium SUVs in Australia, roughly the same size as a Honda ZR-V.
