What could have been the sixth large SUV under the Chery umbrella, the Tiggo X, now faces an uncertain future after previously being confirmed for Australia.

Chinese car brand Chery has slowed its new-vehicle onslaught as the previously-confirmed Tiggo X large SUV’s future remains unclear.
In August this year, Chery Australia announced its Tiggo X seven-seater – closely related to the Tiggo 8 – would arrive in 2025 and share showroom space alongside other large SUVs including the Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid, Tiggo 8 Super Hybrid, and run-out Tiggo 8 Pro Max.
However, the arrival of the Lepas brand – another Chery sub-brand alongside Omoda and Jaecoo – seems to have scuttled plans to introduce the Tiggo X.
The new brand is expected to launch with the Lepas L8, another large SUV relation to the Chery Tiggo 8, with a similar front design to the Tiggo X.
With the three three-row SUVs already in showrooms, as well as the five-seat-only Jaecoo J8 and potential Lepas L8, it seems like five large SUVs across three Chery brands is enough for the Chinese marque.
A Chery Australia spokesperson told Drive that the Tiggo X is now “under review” for the local market.
