The Bentley X Concept was created by the British luxury brand to gather owner feedback on the potential market for an off-road-focused Bentayga.
Launched at the FAT Ice Race in Zell am See, Austria, the X is based on the Bentayga Speed – the high-performance model in Bentley’s line-up.
The concept retains the Speed’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, producing 478kW and 850Nm, with permanent four-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The X concept adopts a far more commanding stance, sitting on 22-inch forged single-piece wheels developed by Brixton, and wrapped in chunky off-road tyres. What’s more, both ride height and track width have been increased to maximise suspension travel and ground clearance.
To make room for these modifications, the wheel arches have been extended outward by 40mm, ground clearance pumped to just below 310mm, resulting in a wading depth exceeding 550mm.
The Bentayga X concept's exterior has been designed with functionality in mind, featuring roof-mounted storage and four spotlights to support extended off-road excursions.
Other highlights include a titanium sports exhaust from Akrapovic, twin towing eyes at the front, and ample cargo capacity, which was demonstrated at the debut using a Bambino-size go kart.
The Bentley Bentayga X Concept will continue its tour at the upcoming FAT Ice Race in Big Sky, Montana, USA, which is scheduled for late February.
