Owners of new Audi A5, Q5, A6, A6 e-tron, and Q6 e-tron models now have access to more in-car games including Pictionary, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, Uno, and Overcooked.

Courtesy of Swiss company AirConsole, owners of all new Audis equipped with Android-based infotainment systems can download the new app to their cars and have access to 13 new games.

The aforementioned Audi models already had access to some games through the Google Play Store already, including Beach Buggy Racing 2, but the new suite of software brings games that even the driver can participate in while on the move.

Previously, only the front passengers could load certain software onto their dedicated display, standard on all new Q6 e-trons in Australia but only fitted to higher-spec versions of the A5, with Audi's Active Privacy Mode preventing drivers from being distracted while the front passenger screen is turned on.

However, the new suite of games can also incorporate the Audi drivers as a player, with the front passenger asking quiz questions and inputting answers.

N-Dream, the makers of AirConsole, CEO Anthony Cliquot called the company's new software a "game-changer", even if this feature has been present more or less in these Audi models and other vehicles before.

“With Audi, we’re redefining what’s possible inside a vehicle… making every journey more social and fun,” Cliquot said in a media statement.

“By enabling gameplay on the passenger screen in a way that prioritizes safety – by not distracting the driver – we’re taking a bold yet responsible step toward a future where cars are not just modes of transport, but platforms for shared digital experiences.”

The two companies have also partnered with Mattel, Inc. – most famous for Barbie and Hot Wheels – to bring Pictionary Car Party to life.

For Pictionary to function in the car however, up to four players need to connect with their smartphones or personal devices.

Whether drivers will get distracted by a car full of shouting and screaming video game players though, is still to be seen.
