A louder exhaust and black highlights have been added to the VW T-Roc R performance SUV with a special edition limited to just 200 cars.
Volkswagen has painted its compact 2025 T-Roc R performance SUV black – and matte grey – in a new special edition for its final 12 to 18 months on sale.
The Volkswagen T-Roc R Wolfsburg Edition is limited to 200 examples in Australia, adding unique design elements and a new Akrapovič sports exhaust promising a more "emotional" sound.
Priced from $69,290 plus on-road costs, it is $4300 dearer than the regular T-Roc R ($64,990), though it is cheaper than the latest, more powerful Golf R hatch ($70,990).
Named after Volkswagen's home town – where its German development centre is located – the Wolfsburg Edition adds Indium Grey matte paint and 19-inch 'Pretoria' dark grey wheels.
The star addition is the titanium exhaust system from Akrapovič, which has only been offered on a handful of other VWs locally – including 2018's Golf R Special Edition and 2023's Golf R 20 Years special editions.
On the related Cupra Formentor, a similar Akrapovič exhaust system is a $6300 option.
The Wolfsburg Edition also adds black roof rails, black mirror caps, black window trim, black front air intake trim, and carbon-fibre-look rear window pillars, plus gloss black interior highlights.
Unchanged is the 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, which continues to send 221kW and 400Nm through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and 4Motion all-wheel drive for 0-100km/h acceleration in a claimed 4.9 seconds.
VW says there are "no plans for an extended run once all vehicles are sold out".
It is yet to be confirmed if the T-Roc R will be renewed for a second generation.
The 2025 Volkswagen T-Roc R Wolfsburg Edition is available to order now.
