Just weeks on from its Australian introduction, Suzuki has rolled out a drive-away price offer for its new Fronx compact SUV.
The budget-priced 2025 Suzuki Fronx city SUV is now available from $29,990 drive-away in most states of Australia, to challenge sub-$30,000 competition from China and India.
It replaces the previous $28,990 plus on-road costs offer in showrooms, and lines up against the Chery Tiggo 4 ($23,990 to $34,990 drive-away) and Mahindra XUV 3XO (from $23,990 drive-away from September 1).
The offer is not national, however, with Suzuki using a different distributor in Queensland and Northern New South Wales, where the Fronx is priced from $30,990 drive-away.
The new pricing saves up to $3000 compared to the regular retail price, with on-road costs included, which can vary depending on location.
At $29,990 drive-away, the Fronx is priced higher than the Hyundai Venue, on offer from $25,990 with a manual transmission or $27,990 with an automatic, and the auto-only Kia Stonic S from $28,290 drive-away.
It also sits above the slightly larger Chery Tiggo 4 Urban from $23,990 drive-away, and matches the Tiggo 4 Hybrid Urban, from $29,990 drive-away, but with a full-hybrid system rather than Suzuki’s mild-hybrid drivetrain.
Other Chinese small SUVs, such as the GWM Haval Jolion Premium from $24,990 drive-away and MG ZS Excite from $25,990 drive-away, also undercut Suzuki’s new city SUV.
Specifications are unchanged for the pricing offer, with the Fronx Hybrid powered by a 76kW/137Nm 1.5-litre petrol engine assisted by a 12-volt mild-hybrid system, which can only aid the engine under acceleration, rather than drive the wheels on electric power alone.
The Fronx comes in a single specification grade, fitted with LED headlight and tail-lights, 16-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry and start, and leather-look interior trim with front-seat heating.
A 9.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, single-zone climate control, wireless phone charger, and driver’s head-up display are also included as standard.
Safety equipment includes autonomous emergency braking (AEB), adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition and a 360-degree surround view camera system.
Suzuki offers single-tone premium paint for an additional $745, while two-tone paint is an extra $1345.
The Japanese car brand's Queensland and northern NSW distributor charges $690 and $1190, respectively, for the same finishes.
The 2025 Suzuki Fronx is currently in pre-order stage, with national deliveries set to begin on September 1.
