Nissan has updated its Hyundai Kona competitor with a longer list of features and updated styling yet unchanged prices – though the cheapest hybrid remains $55,000 drive-away.
- 2025 Nissan Qashqai pricing and specifications
- Petrol or hybrid power in reshuffled range
- Bigger screen, dual-zone climate in base model
- Priced from $34,665 before on-road costs
The updated 2025 Nissan Qashqai petrol and hybrid small SUV has arrived in Australia with a longer list of standard equipment than its predecessor – but no price rises.
The mid-life update for the Qashqai launches two years after the latest model reached Australia some 18 months behind Europe, and brings changes to styling, interior design and technology.
Prices have not changed for the updated model, the range starting from $34,665 plus on-road costs – though Nissan increased RRPs of the outgoing version by $275 at the start of January due to production and material cost changes.
Until April 30, the entry-level ST is being offered for $2000 less as part of an "introductory offer" – at $32,665 plus on-roads – while the ST-L receives a $1000 discount, to $37,665.
All models are now fitted as standard with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, dual-zone climate control and a leather-look steering wheel, while higher grades gain larger wheels and new interior trim.
Nissan has reshuffled the model line-up for 2025. The base ST is unchanged, but the ST+ has become the ST-L, the old ST-L is now the Ti, and the old Ti is now the Ti-L.
A new N-Design flagship has been added at the top of the range, with unique 20-inch wheels, body-coloured and gloss black highlights, and revised interior trim.
Hybrid 'e-Power' technology is optional in the Ti-L, and standard in the N-Design, with all other models sold only with 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engines.
It means the most affordable hybrid grade is priced from $52,365 plus on-road costs, or about $55,000 drive-away.
Nissan Australia says the outgoing, top-of-the-range Ti e-Power accounted for about 15 per cent of Qashqai sales, with a further 30 per cent for its Ti petrol-only equivalent.
Styling changes include a restyled front fascia with reshaped headlights and a new grille with comma-shaped details said to be inspired by Japanese armour scales, and new LED tail-light signatures with clear lenses.
There is a choice of 17-, 18-, 19- and 20-inch alloy wheels, depending on the model, the lattermost size new for the Qashqai in Australia after it was exclusive to Europe for the outgoing model.
New Deep Ocean, Pearl White and Black Onyx paint options have been added.
Inside, the passenger side of the dashboard has been reshaped, there are new patterned materials around the gear shifter, and multi-colour ambient lighting has been added to the Ti grade and up.
There is now Alcantara on the dashboard, door inserts, door armrests, centre console box lid and knee pads in high-grade models, with the N-Design also adding it as an accent on the seat bolsters.
Differentiating the N-Design is body-coloured exterior cladding, unique 20-inch wheels, and gloss black highlights, in addition to being the only hybrid grade with a spare wheel.
The N-Design lacks many of the features of the Ti-L grade – such as massaging seats and premium audio – but costs $2000 more, at $54,365 plus on-road costs or close to an estimated $60,000 drive-away.
The 2025 Qashqai debuts new connected-car technology for Nissan in Australia, accessed through a Nissan Connect phone app that unlocks vehicle location data, remote control of lights and locks, trip information, and more.
Wireless Android Auto is now available, while the standard fitment of a 12.3-inch touchscreen in every grade – rather than in the ST+ and up – means all models now offer wireless Apple CarPlay.
Australian models miss out on the Google built-in services offered in Europe.
Petrol-only Qashqais use a 1.3-litre turbo four-cylinder engine developing 110kW and 250Nm, matched with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).
The e-Power hybrid uses a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol three-cylinder engine as a generator to power a battery pack and 140kW/330Nm electric motor on the front axle.
The 2025 Nissan Qashqai is on sale now.
