Safety upgrade comes with increased cost for budget Toyota HiLux rival

The 2025 LDV T60 ute has been updated with key safety features that will allow the Chinese brand to continue fielding its budget Ford Ranger rival, but the changes also come with a streamlined range and an increase to prices.

Cutting the eight-variant line-up down to three, all versions of the 2025 LDV T60 are now fitted with autonomous emergency braking (AEB) as standard – a requirement to meet the incoming Australian Design Rules (ADR) 98/00 that has contributed to the discontinuation of the Mazda 6, and Mitsubishi ASX, Eclipse Cross and Pajero Sport.

In addition to AEB, the new base T60 Max Pro gains lane departure warning, lane-keep assist and adaptive cruise control – all already available on the top-spec T60 Max Plus.

Other additions to the entry-level T60 includes a high-definition reversing camera, digital radio, microfibre steering wheel and black roof rails, as well as a 500kg boost in braked towing capacity to take it to 3500kg.

With manual versions now discontinued, the automatic T60 Max Pro now opens the line-up with the changes resulting in a $2105 price rise to $45,253 drive-away for private customers.

Australian Business Number (ABN) holders can bag the 2025 LDV T60 Max Pro for $42,990.

As for the flagship T60 Max Plus, prices are up $1579 to $52,095 and $53,674 for the long wheelbase Mega Tub for private buyers, a smaller jump due to only a digital radio, high-definition surround-view monitor and braked towing capacity upgrade added this year.

ABN buyers can purchase the T60 Max Plus for $49,490 and $50,990 for standard and Mega Tub versions respectively.

The mid-tier Luxe grades are now no longer available.

As before, all T60s are powered by a 2.0-litre twin-turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine, sending 160kW/500Nm to all four wheels via a ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic transmission.

Distinguishing the T60 Max Plus is also a blacked-out unique grille and sailplane in lieu of the Pro’s chrome front fascia and sports bar.

The 2025 LDV T60 will arrive in Australian showrooms in this month.
