Customer deliveries of the 2026 Zeekr 7X electric SUV are now underway in Australia, after more than 2500 pre-orders were collected before many buyers had taken a test drive.

The first 100 customers designated to collect their cars took part in a "delivery ceremony" at the Sydney Motorsport Park race circuit on Wednesday, after the commencement of test drives on Monday, 6 October.

All of the initial deliveries appear to be to customers based in New South Wales. Other states are expected to follow in the coming days and weeks.

More than 2500 customers pre-ordered prior to Wednesday, 1000 of which placed money down in the first seven days after books opened.

Zeekr says 74 per cent of 7X buyers are new to electric vehicles, and 70 per cent are "transitioning from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles" – suggesting some customers have owned electric cars, before returning to petrol or diesel, and now switching back to an EV.

The brand says "many" customers were "previously driving [cars from] European brands," with Zeekr Australia managing director Frank Li naming BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi in an interview with media, including Drive, last month.

Drive understands the $72,900 plus on-road costs Performance AWD flagship was the top seller among the first 2000 7X orders, with more customers thought to have chosen green than any other colour, as these images suggest.

Prices start from $57,900 plus on-road costs for the RWD (rear-wheel drive), rising to $63,900 for the Long Range RWD, with 480km and 615km of claimed driving range, respectively.

Zeekr now operates 12 dealers across Australia, and has been in the local market for 12 months.
